The 1981 UEFA Cup Final was played over two legs, the first being played in front of 27,000 fans at Portman Road.
Ipswich Town won the match 3-0 thanks to goals from John Wark (recently named the PFA Players' Player of the Year), Frans Thijssen and Paul Mariner, giving them a big advantage ahead of the second leg in The Netherlands.
